The Work Starts Here.
Moving from Resentment to Partnership.
Realign your roles. Rediscover appreciation.
Relationship burnout often starts with the things no one sees—the "mental load" of managing a household, a family, and a life. When one partner carries the invisible weight of the relationship, resentment builds, and connection dies. This is specialist support to stop the burnout and rebuild the partnership.
You’re in a relationship - but you feel more like roommates or coworkers.
You may be:
- Exhausted by the "mental load" of managing everything
- Resentful about the imbalance of household or parenting roles
- Feeling unappreciated and unseen in your daily efforts
- Stuck in a loop of "nagging" vs. "shutting down"
- Wondering if you’re just too burned out to try anymore
No matter how deep the resentment feels, I’ll meet you there with professional, direct guidance to realign your roles and your connection.
What We Work On
Together, we look at the invisible structures of your relationship. We move past the surface-level arguments about chores and get into the deeper relational patterns of respect and accountability.
You’ll learn how to:
- Make "invisible labor" visible without starting a fight
- Communicate needs with clarity instead of resentment
- Realign household and relationship roles for sustainable balance
- Rediscover appreciation and genuine connection
- Stop the reactive cycle of burnout and shutdown
What Makes This Work Different?
This isn’t just about making a chore chart. This is practical, honest work using Relational Life Therapy (RLT). We look at the power dynamics and the "relational stances" that keep you stuck.
We use tools to help you:
- Speak the truth about your needs with respect
- Establish boundaries that protect your well-being
- Repair imbalances cleanly and effectively
- Show up as a team instead of adversaries

Common Questions About Resentment & Role Imbalance
What is invisible labor and why does it cause relationship burnout?
- Invisible labor is the mental load of managing a household and family - the planning, tracking, and anticipating that rarely gets acknowledged. When one partner carries it consistently, resentment builds quietly over time. Left unaddressed, it erodes connection and turns partners into roommates or coworkers.
Is this couples therapy or individual support?
- This is couples work. Both partners attend together. The goal is to shift the dynamic between you - not just help one partner cope with it. If only one partner is ready right now, start with the free intro session to talk through where you both are.
We argue about this constantly but nothing changes. Can therapy actually help?
- Yes - but only if the approach addresses behaviour, not just awareness. Most couples already know the imbalance exists. RLT goes further by building the specific relational skills needed to change the pattern. Insight without practice doesn't shift behaviour. This does.
How long before we see a difference?
- Most couples experience meaningful shift in 4 to 6 sessions. Role and resentment patterns are often deeply entrenched, so the pace depends on how long the dynamic has been running and how committed both partners are to doing the work between sessions.
Are sessions online or in person?
- Both. Most couples across Alberta join by secure Zoom. In-person sessions in Red Deer are available Mondays and Thursdays. The intro session can be either - whatever works best for you.
What does it cost?
- Sessions start at $200 per hour. A full session is 120 minutes. The introductory session is free - it's the best way to assess fit before you invest anything.
