Book Your Free 30-minute Intro Session

At RLT Marriage Counselling, these are not disconnected services.

They are different starting points into the same core work.

Relationship counselling using Relational Life Therapy.

Couples often arrive thinking the problem is communication, sex, betrayal, resentment, parenting tension, or the question of whether to stay together.

Those concerns matter.

But underneath them, there is usually a pattern.

That is where we work.

If you want to understand what to look for before booking, start here:

These Are the Ways Couples Typically Begin This Work

You do not need to know which page fits perfectly before you start.

That is what the free introductory session is for.

The page that sounds closest to your situation simply helps you find your way in.

From there, we look at what is actually happening between you and what kind of support makes sense.

Sessions With Rick

Private sessions with Rick are the main pathway for couples who want focused, direct, relational work.

Sessions are usually 2 hours.

That gives us time to move past surface updates and work with the pattern in real time.

This may be the right path if you are working on:

  • Communication breakdown
  • Trust repair
  • Emotional distance
  • Resentment
  • Sexual disconnection
  • Stepfamily or blended family stress
  • Uncertainty about the future of the relationship

This is not passive talk therapy.

It is active, structured relationship work.

Relationship 911 - Intensive

Some couples need more continuity than regular sessions can provide.

Relationship 911 is a 3-day in-person intensive for couples who need focused, contained, deep relationship work.

It is not a separate kind of work.

It is the same Relational Life Therapy process delivered in a more immersive format.

This may be the right fit if the relationship is in crisis, betrayal has occurred, weekly sessions feel too slow, or the space between sessions makes the pattern harder to hold.

Group Work and Workshops

Some couples grow best through structured learning, shared experience, and group-based support.

Group work and workshops are designed for couples who want to strengthen skills, deepen connection, and keep practising relational tools outside of private sessions.

These formats are not usually the best starting point for crisis work.

They are strongest when couples are ready to learn, practise, and build alongside others.

Frequently Asked Questions About Services

How do we know which service page fits us?

You do not need to figure that out perfectly.

Choose the page that sounds closest to where you are right now. The free introductory session is where we look at what is actually happening and what kind of support makes sense.

Are these separate services?

Not really.

They are different entry points into the same core work: relationship counselling using Relational Life Therapy.

The issue may be betrayal, burnout, sexual distance, communication, or family structure. The deeper work is still pattern-focused relationship repair.

Do you offer online and in-person sessions?

Yes.

Most private sessions are available online across Alberta or in-person in Red Deer on Mondays and Thursdays. Relationship 911 is delivered in person only.

What does counselling cost?

Private sessions are $200 per hour and are usually booked as 2-hour sessions.

The free introductory session is the best starting point before making any financial commitment.

What if we are not sure whether we want to stay together?

That is a valid place to start.

You do not need certainty before reaching out. Some couples come in to rebuild. Some come in to decide. The work helps create clarity either way.
